Chennai: Empee Hotels, which owns Hilton Chennai, has entered into a joint development agreement with Arihant Foundations and Housing to develop Grade A commercial office space.
The project is to develop three lakh sqft commercial office space on a one-acre vacant plot behind Hilton Chennai at Ekkattuthangal. Empee Hotels had kept the plot aside for the hotel’s future expansion but decided to opt for commercial space development due to high demand, sources told TOI.
With a Gross Development Value of around ₹500 crore, it will integrate office space with hospitality services, creating a dynamic hub in one of the most sought-after locations. Strategically located, it is set to cater to the burgeoning demand for commercial office spaces including for global capability centres (GCCs) in Chennai, said a statement from Arihant Foundations and Housing. Arun Rajan, CEO of Arihant, said the collaboration with Empee Hotels represents a step forward in its commitment to deliver premium commercial spaces in Chennai.
“We are excited to develop it alongside Empee Hotels, which will enhance the location’s appeal as a prime business destination. We believe this will meet the growing demand for high-quality office spaces that cater to the needs of global companies establishing a presence in the city.”
